A former United States Marine and graduate of CSU Chico with a degree in Ag Business, Steve has always had a passion for ranching. Raised in a ranching community and following in his Grandfather's footsteps, he knew he wanted to be an auctioneer at an early age. Steve has spent most of his life in sale barns and working cattle. Steve is the general manager for Headwaters Livestock Auction in Three Forks, MT. In 2018 he was named "Rookie of the Year" by the Livestock Marketing Association. In 2019 Steve won the Bid Calling Champion for the Montana Auctioneer Association as well as Reserve Champion at a Livestock Marketing Association Regional Qualifier. He is a member of both the National Auctioneer Association and the Montana Auctioneer Association.
Steve is also a lead announcer for Las Vegas Events, announcing the Junior World Finals during the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo. Steve was featured by Instagram for a behind the scenes look into the life of a rodeo announcer. 2020 brought about Podcast Co-Host with NFR Extra. Along with his busy schedule, Steve spends his free time giving back. Auctioneering for local 4H chapters, as well as specializing in benefit auctions for non-profit organizations.
Steve resides in Southwest Montana with his wife and three children.
